Home Tasks

Our weekly home tasks are;

* Enjoy reading using Bug Club ( )

Read every night for at least 10 minutes.

You can choose to use Bug Club and read the books that have been allocated to you at school, and you can choose to read your favourite books from home!

Bug Club is a whole school reading programme that combines books with an online reading world, filled with favourite characters, to hook children into a lifelong love of books and to develop confident young readers.

* Times Tables practise using TTRockstars (app or )

Being able to recall times tables confidently is a great help when solving a wide range of Maths problems. We give the children the opportunity to practise their times tables during school time. All pupils have access to TT Rockstars through computer, laptop or tablet. TT Rockstars provides the children fun yet challenging Maths games designed to improve their knowledge and confidence in their times tables. These games can be played in school and at home, so we encourage pupils to use these resources at home to consolidate their skills.

* To complete a level of IDL each day (app or )

IDL is a computer programme that supports the development of reading and spelling skills. It is interactive and we have found that the children have been keen to engage with it in school. They all have access to their individual programme at home through computer, laptop or tablet. The programme adapts as they develop their skills, so it ensures that it is always working at the appropriate level.

There will also be home tasks which will support or lead class learning; these will be sent home via Seesaw Family Announcements (Family App) and Seesaw Student Announcements (Class App) and will involve the use of Seesaw, HWB and Google Classroom.

Blended learning remains a priority and we will continue to use digital technology and online learning platforms to support both home and class learning.

(Children have access to all of their log in details via their Digital Toolkit saved within the DCF folder on Seesaw).
