Can my child have a school dinner?

Yes of course. Newydd provide our school dinners and they cost £2.50 per day.

How do I pay for school dinners?

As a school we have now gone cashless and use school gateway for taking the payment of dinner money. Please register with School Gateway to make your payment. Should you require any help with this please contact Mrs Hartley in the school office.

How do I get onto School Gateway?

Here is the link for School Gateway.

Do Newydd have theme days?

Yes. Every so often Newydd will hold a theme day and the menu will be changed. We will post the theme days on Seesaw for you to see in advance.

  • Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and their annual income does not exceed £16,190,

Why is it important to apply?
If you are eligible to receive free school meals it is very important to your child’s school that you apply. The school can access funding for children who qualify for free school meals that will allow them to provide targeted support programs, buy equipment and resources etc.

If your child prefers to take a packed lunch or make other arrangements it is still important to register for free school meals so the school can access funding.

How do I apply?
You must complete a Free School Meals form. Should you require any help please contact the school office.

Can my child bring in a packed lunch?

Of course. The children who bring in their own packed lunch will sit with their friends in the dinner hall. We ask that children bring in juice or water and not fizzy drinks. We help all children when needed with the opening of packaging as sometimes the wrappers can be quite tricky.

We ask, where possible that the packed lunch provided is balanced.
